Description
Who doesn’t like nuggets of steak?!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1” pieces
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tbsp cajun seasoning, to taste
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, season the steak pieces liberally with cajun seasoning. Set aside and let marinate while you’re preheating the pan.
-
Place a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Let it preheat for a few minutes, then drizzle in a bit of olive oil. Add 1 tbsp of butter and swirl it around to coat the pan. As soon as it’s completely melted add the steak tips in a single layer, and make sure there’s a decent amount of space between each one. Let sear for 1 minute, then use tongs to flip.
-
Add another small pat of butter to the center of the pan, and cook the steak for 2 more minutes, then remove from the pan. Add more oil and butter and repeat with the remaining steak, in as many batches as needed.
- Once all of the steak tips have been seared, pour the steak tips and their accumulated juices back into the pan. Add any remaining butter. Spread the steak tips around into an even layer as best you can and let cook for another 3-5 minutes, depending on the doneness you want.
-
Remove from the skillet and let rest on a plate for about 10 minutes, then serve. Dassit!
