The Best Lemonade – to ME.


  • 7 C filtered water, divided
  • 2 C granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 C freshly-squeeze lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt


  1. In a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat, add all of the sugar and Kosher salt along with two cups of water. Whisk together, and bring everything to a boil. Whisk intermittently, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool to room temperature.
  2. In a large pitcher combine the lemon juice and simple syrup together. Add the remaining cups of water, and give it a taste. If it’s too sweet for you, you can add another cup of water, but I’d also add another few tablespoons of lemon juice, too – otherwise you might drown out the lemon flavor too much.
  3. Chill in the fridge for 4 hours before serving, or serve immediately over ice if you can’t wait. I prefer the refrigerator chill so the flavor doesn’t get watered down at all.
